Egypt In Dance - Ahmad Khalil Dance Company - DVD

I got another DVD, Egyptian Folkloric Dance, by the same dance company last year. I like it more every time I view it, so I got this second DVD. I am delighted by the creative, refreshing charm of the performances of the 5 male and 5 female dancers. The dances sometimes play out like skits while the dancers, dressed in colorful costumes, act a role amid sets and props to authentic Egyptian music. The charming Horse Dance with two people in a horse costume is well done with a convincing horse. The Fisherman and the Fish dance features the male solo dancer, Ahmad Khalil, and the main solo female dancer as they dance well together to interesting music with Arabic words that seem to emotionally tell the travails of the fisherman. Is the female soloist with her beaming smile, flashing eyes and excellent moves Ayda Riad, the first female dancer listed in the credits? I only know that these fine performances were filmed in 1977. Though this dance troupe likely no longer exists, they dance forever on this excellent DVD.
